Tooling Design Engineer

•Position Title: Tooling Design Engineer
•Position type:Permanent; Full-time.
•Remuneration: RM 3000-5000.
•Location: Bandar Puncak Alam, Shah Alam.
•Industry: Manufacturer and supplier of precision tooling and metal stamping parts across a range of sectors/industries.
Duties & Responsibilities
·Design and release stamping tools/dies.
·Use 2D/3D(e.g. SolidWorks, Creo) to develop tooling layouts, strip-layouts, die sets, tooling components.
·Conduct feasibility/stamping process reviews: blank development, forming, trimming, spring-back, die flow, material take-off.
·Coordinate and collaborate with Production, Tool room and Engineering activities on try-out, tool trials, fitting, alignment and modifications.
·Review customer drawings, revise tooling designs based on feedback.
·Apply GD&T, design standards and manufacturing knowledge to minimize defects and drive tooling robustness.
·Maintain tooling database, update, change history and ensure documentation are controlled.
·Support root-cause investigations of tooling/die failures, propose design improvements and preventive actions.   
Requirements
·Bachelor degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
·Some 2-3 years of proven experience in tooling design for metal stamping industry.
·Proficiency in CAD (SolidWords) and tooling/die design.
·Good understanding of metal stamping processes, metal behavior (sheet metal),die construction, fitments and pro operation.
·Working knowledge of GD&T, tooling standards, die set elements and manufacturing tolerances.
·Proficient in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
